Bruce Edward Hoffman
(June 16, 1958 - September 21, 2006)

RICHMOND - Bruce Edward Hoffman, 48, of 6502 Ridgefield Road, Richmond, died Thursday (Sept. 21, 2006) in Waynesboro.

He was born June 16, 1958, in Waynesboro, a son of Betty Lilly Hoffman and the late Dr. Henry Allen Hoffman Jr.

Bruce worked for the Virginia Credit Union in Richmond, and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. A graduate of Waynesboro High School, he received a bachelor's degree from James Madison University and a master's degree from the University of Georgia. He enjoyed music and martial arts and was an avid fan of Georgia football.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Catherine Hoffman; a daughter, Virginia Hoffman; a son, Bruce Hoffman; a sister and brotherin-law, Marjorie H. and Dr. David J. John; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dr. John A. and Renae Hoffman and Dr. Richard H. and Marie Hoffman; three maternal uncles; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 27, 2006) at McDow Funeral Home by Dr. Jon Lovelady. A private burial service will be held at a later date.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately after the service until 9 p.m.
